These workshops were developed from training I have received through the Racial Equity Institute and the Triangle chapter of SURJ (Showing Up for Racial Justice), in addition to my own reading and research. A list of resources is available at For more information on my meditation background, please visit

These workshops are part of the anti-racist, community-based project "The White Women Project." These workshops are designed to help white women explore their feelings and beliefs about whiteness and then translate those discoveries into sculpture that they create. During the workshop I lead guided meditations and group/individual exercises that help participants investigate the emotions and thoughts that arise when they consider whiteness, being white, white people's legacy of violence, white culture, and white privilege. Each participant builds their own sculptures from relevant, symbolic materials. Participants will have access to a wide variety of sculpture materials and this workshop fee helps cover the cost of these materials.
